According to the annual textile machinery statistics of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), Zurich/Switzerland, global shipments of large circular knitting machines fell by 22% from 36,575 in 2013 to 28,502 in 2014, the lowest level since 2009. As in the past, Asia is the world's leading investor with nearly 88% of all circular knitting machines made there. With a share of 60% (close to 17,000 shipments) of worldwide deliveries, China was the single largest investor. India ranked second with 2,464 (8.6%), followed by Turkey in 3rd place with 1,325 units (4.6%).
