摘要

Production of man-made fibers (MMF) in Japan in 2014 fell by 0.4% compared to the previous year to 980,000 tons. According to a report by the Japan Chemical Fibers Association, Tokyo, synthetic fibers decreased by 0.8% to 806,000 tons, while cellulosic fibers increased by 1.4% to 170,000. Polyamide filament production increased by 2.8%, due mainly to an increase in exports for airbag applications, While polyester filament production fell 10.3 %, particularly due to a sharp decrease in tire cord applications. Acrylic staple fiber production fell by 4.4% as there was a decrease in exports to China, and PET staple fiber production increased by 2.7 % as there was a recovery in spinning applications.
