The Italian Salmoiraghi Automatic Handling Group SpA, Monza, develops automated handling and storage systems for continuous POY, FDY, DTY and IY bobbins, as well as other textile products. 2 novelties will be shown - both are doffing solutions specifically designed to serve the latest generation "twin type" winders (Man-ta by TMT, WINGS and I-Qoon by Oerlikon Barmag) for synthetic continuous yarn. The IGV 2 automatic doffing system is a battery driven vehicle equipped with a special doffing module featuring twin bobbin mandrels, and a pusher device. The vehicle features a state-of-the-art inertial guidance system, ensuring millimeter positioning accuracy in front of the winder. This compact, highly maneuverable vehicle is a feasible automatic doffing solution in winding aisles characterized by low ceilings and tight spaces, which preclude the use of classic overhead rail guided doffers. It is also an interesting solution when it is desired to avoid the fabrica- tion and installation of complex supporting structures. IGV 2 can doff both latest generation twin chuck winders as well as classic single chuck winders. If required, the vehicle is able to directly connect the winding and packing areas.
