Andritz Asselin-Thibeau, part of international technology group Andritz AG, Graz/Austria, has opened its new technical center in El-beuf/France. For the first time, nonwovens producers have the opportunity to test the neXline needlepunch pilot line, designed in industrial scale. The new line includes a high performance Ex-celle double card designed to run short and long staple fibers with a very uniform web aspect despite throughput capabilities in excess of 500 kg/h/m. Here, for the very first time, the TT card concept is applied to cross-lapping processes. It can be set to provide highly uniform webs with MD/CD ratios of less than 3:1.
