The supplier of high technology coatings through "green" processes, Alexium Inc., Greer, SC/USA, has developed a new flame-, oil- and water-repellent treatment for nylon fabrics. Alexium has discovered a new eco-friendly flame-retardant treatment for nylon fabrics by the formation of a protective nanocompositechar layer. This char layer also prevents any dripping or melting, which is characteristic of many synthetic FR fabrics. Notably, this performance is provided without using halogenated chemicals.
