The latest generation of doffer will be shown by Salmoiraghi SpA, Monza/ltaly. The doffer is a system for bobbin pick-up from virtually any kind of winder, and transfer to overhead transport vehicles for subsequent automated handling. The 2012 doffer features many sustainable (green) technology solutions: 1. it is "fully electric" (on-board pneumatics have been eliminated) 2. it is equipped with high efficiency motors and mechanical transmissions designed to minimize friction and reduce electrical consumption 3. it incorporates advanced electronic control systems and built-in diagnostics; these are contained in an on-board control cabinet that allows easy maintenance and eliminates the need for long and cumbersome cable chains 4. advanced laser scanners ensure absolute operator safety.
