The largest producer of PLA (polylactide) biopolymers NatureWorks LLC, Minnetonka, MN/USA, will increase the production of the PLA biopolymer Ingeo and produce new, high-performance resins and lactides. Name-plate Ingeo production capacity at the production in Blair, NE/USA, will rise from 140,000 to 150,000 tons/year. Commissioning of the installed new equipment is expected in the 1~(st) quarter of 2013 with capacity increases and new products becoming available in the 2~(nd) quarter 2013.
