In the first quarter of 2011, the manufacturer for cellulosic fibers Lenzing AG, Lenzing/ Austria, was able to increase its consolidated sales by 46% to € 532.1 million. As a result, Lenzing anticipates better business performance in the financial year 2011 than originally announced in February 2011. The main reason for this is that the fiber price increases at the beginning of the 1st and 2nd quarters have been well accepted by the market. Also the strong global fiber demand combined with the supply gap for cotton lead to this upward trend.
