The Japanese flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd., Wakayama, developed the new SSR112 computerized flat knitting machine which is highly productive, energy efficient, and compact. The worldwide economic slowdown has shifted production toward manufacturing centers which provide a large amount of basic goods at a lower price. Since the economic recovery, production has remained in these areas but with greater interest in capital investment.
