Since the end of last year, the entire textile machinery sector has been experiencing a strong upswing. In the first months of 2010, Oerlikon Neumag, Neumunster/Germany, was able to conclude more than 20 orders for the production of BCF carpet yarns with carpet producers from Brazil, the USA, Turkey, China and Russia. More than half of the capacities relate to production lines for polyester BCF yarns. The increased demand for polyester has different reasons. First and foremost, the yarns can be produced with more cost-efficiency than others.
