When an Ohio manufacturer was considering options for the production of the thermostat switch component below, they learned of a new combined-step stamping process that saved an allied facility up to $300,000 a year in assembly costs. What made the difference was a new technology called value added stamping, a process specially designed to integrate several stamping processes into one. This procedure saves the user time and money by eliminating the need for extra steps, secondary operations or hand assembly.
