Se presenta un estudio sobre la macro-coleopterofauna necrófila establecida en Tepoztlán, Morelos, México. Durante un año de colectas mensuales (V-1990/IV-1991), se obtuvieron 31 muestras mensuales de NTP-80 en tres localidades: Tecmilco (bosque tropical caducifolio) a 1,500 m snm, Santo Domingo (pino-encino) a 1,800 m de altitud y Amatlán (ecotono) a 1,450 m snm, en las cuales se capturaron 624 especímenes de Coleoptera Scarabaeidae, Trogidae y Silphidae, que representan a 23 especies de los géneros: Copris, Dichotomius, Ateuchus, Canthidium, Phanaeus, Coprophanaeus, Canthon, Deltochilum, Onthophagus.Ataenius, Neopsammodius, Omorgus, Trox, Oxelytrum, Nicrophorus y Thanatophilus. Los Scarabaeidae representan el 49.51 %, Silphidae un 47.11 % y Trogidae el 3.36% de la abundancia en las tres localidades. El bosque de Pinus-Quercus presentó una abundancia del 54.32%, el bosque tropical caducifolio un 38.14% y el ecotono solo el 7.53%. El bosque tropical caducifolio registró la mayor diversidad genérica y específica con 14 géneros y 16 especies, el bosque de Pinus-Quercus ocho géneros y ocho especies y el ecotono ocho géneros y 10 especies. Las especies predominantes son N. olidas, C. pluto y O. igualensis que totalizan el 83.80% del total de la muestra.%A study was carried out, regarding the necrophilous coleoptera macrofauna found in Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico. The collections were done each month over a one-year period (from May, 1990 to April, 1991). In this way, 31 monthly samples were obtained from the permanent necrotrap-80 in three regions: Tecmilco (deciduous tropical forest) at 1500 meters, Santo Domingo (pine-oak forest) at an altitude of 1800 meters, and Amatlan (ecotone forest) at 1450 meters. 624 specimens of Coleoptera Scarabaeidae, Trogidae and Silphidae were collected and represent 23 species of the following genera: Copra, Dichotomius, Ateuchus, Canthidium, Phanaeus, Coprophanaeus, Canthon, Deltochilum, Onthophagus, Ataenius, Neopsammodius, Omorgus, Trox, Oxelytrum, Nicrophorus and Thanatophilus. Scarabaeidae comprised 49.51%, Silphidae 47.11% and Trogidae 3.36% of the population in the three regions. The Pinus-Quercus forest presented 54.32% of the population, the deciduous tropical forest 38.14%, and the ecotone forest only 7.53%. The deciduous tropical forest had the greatest specific records and generic diversity, with 14 genera and 16 species. The Pinus-Quercus forest had eight genera and eight species and the ecotone forest 8 genera and 10 species.
