Da più di sette anni la Regione è funestata da una sanguinosa guerra che ha provocato centinaia di migliaia di vittime. Negli ultimi mesi, la tensione è aumentata tanto da far temere un confronto militare su vasta scala che può coinvolgere altri Paesi. A nulla sono valsi i negoziati intrapresi dalle Nazioni Unite e dall'Unione Africana e l'intervento di un Contingente multinazionale. Per i continui intralci al mandato l'ONU ha deciso di ritirarsi.%For more than seven years this Region has been ravaged by a bloody war which has caused thousands of victims. In the last months, the tension has risen so much that there is the possibility of a large-scale conflict that could involve other Countries. The negotiations undertaken by the United Nations and the African Union, and the intervention of a multinational Contingent have been to no avail. Meanwhile, due to the continuous hindrances to the implementation of the mandate, the Italian Foreign Ministry has decided the disengagement of our Country's military.
