America's Difficulties in Iraq and Afghanistan have shaken discussions of transformation to their technological roots. The Defense Department (DOD) is beginning to realize that modernizing our Army for irregular conflicts in the 21st century will require profound changes in the human workforce. Yet, an "irregular gap" persists within the Army's current force structure.
