It needs to be emphasised that there is a clear correlation between Russian arms exports and performance of the Russian defence industry. Successful arms exports increase throughput and drive the industry in general and the aerospace sector in particular to excel. As a result, Russian arms exports either increase or remain steady. The cumulative effect of that brings pressure to bear on domestic Russian demand for delivery of weapon systems and thus further improves industry's financial situation. Last but not the least important factor is the co-operation between Rosoboronexport (RoE), the national defence exports agency, and more than 700 defence industry enterprises. RoE is well-informed on the future shape of the global market and shares this information with the Russian military-industrial complex, which performs accordingly.
