摘要

We recall that the Joint Staff was established on 27 March 2006. Ever since the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) took the first step towards operating under the new joint operation system by name and in practice, the JSDF have executed numerous duties in Japan and overseas under the joint operation system over the past ten years. In addition, 2015 was truly a year of transformations. Along with the establishment of the new Guidelines for Japan-US Defense Cooperation and the passage of the Legislation for Peace and Security (LPS), the Ministry of Defense was reorganised on 1 October 2015, unifying affairs concerning actual unit operations into the Joint Staff.
