摘要

There are many challenges facing the industry in terms of systems and solutions that can be used to counter the effects of deadly anti-tank weapons. Military sources found that the use of RPG-7 anti-armour rounds against ISAF troops in Afghanistan demonstrated that the bulk of their combat vehicles were not adequately protected against such threats. When employed in "hit-and-run" tactics, RPGs were shown to represent the deadliest weapon available to insurgents. This situation was not only characteristic of the Afghan campaign, but also includes similar scenarios in Lebanon, Libya, Mali, and later on, Iraq and Syria. Until very recently, the threat posed by such weapons was often ignored, but some militaries, including Canada, France, Germany, Israel, the UK, and the US learned that improved protective measures must be taken into consideration to save lives.
