At Eurosatory 2014, General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) is exhibiting the latest member of the tracked ASCOD platform/family of vehicles to the public. The ASCOD platform started as an Austrian (GDELS-Steyr)-Spanish (GDELS-Santa Barbara Sistemas (SBS)) cooperation for a tracked vehicle in the 1990s. Spain has been using this platform as its PIZARRO Ⅰ (123 IFVs & 21 Command Post Vehicles [CP]) since 1996, and the Austrian Army as the ULAN (112 IFVs) since 1999. Spain has furthermore ordered an additional 124 IFVs, 18 Forward Observer Vehicles (FOV - artillery), and 48 Engineering Combat Vehicles (ECV) of the PIZARRO Ⅱ.
