AleniaAermacchi rolled out its first M-346 jet trainer for Israel on 20 March 2014, part of a reciprocal deal including Israeli satellites and early warning aircraft for Italy. Officials from both MoDs praised their close cooperative relationship in Italy as the first of 30 M-346 jets rolled out to much manufacturer fanfare and customer applause. MT correspondent Georg Mader spoke to Brig.Gen. Ran Bashvitz, Head of Material Directorate of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) about this and other developments between these two defence partners.
