The Polish defence industry is to be modern, competitive and innovative - according to the government's plan. However, instead of one, coherent, national project, we have an internal struggle for influence, money and job positions, as well as the threat of a few labour strikes. The story about the Polish industry is a story of small rises and great falls, as well as hopes for a better future. Years of stagnation, starting with the fall of communism in 1989, make Poland desperately trying to keep up with the world's best...unfortunately, so far, with little success.
