Since the beginning of the year, Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica company, changed its name to AleniaAermacchi, completing the transformation and consolidation process for the aeronautical business Finmeccanica CEO, Giuseppe Orsi, announced in July 2011. The new company, maintaining the Alenia Aeronautica top management including the President Amedeo Caporaletti, the CEO Giuseppe Giordo, and General Director Massimo Lucchesini, should led to significant scale savings for both the processes and the products, through the engineering enhancement, the production systems and related supply chain re-definition. The operation had two distinct phases: first, Alenia Aeronautica incorporated its subsidiary companies Alenia Aermacchi and Alenia SIA, then changed its name into AleniaAermacchi, transferring its registered office from Pomigliano d'Arco (Naples) to Venegono (Varese).
