Thales presented completely new solutions during a pre-Eurosatory media event in Paris. As area communications are becoming a key capability to provide the high capacity connectivity that links disparate formations across the battlefield, Thales developed its own SATCOM-on-the-Move (SOTM) solution, which is known as the XOTM SATMOVE quick halt terminal. It is operating in the X band, using an active antenna that, thanks to its beam steering axis performance and electronic tracking capability, greatly reduces the mechanical constraints on the pedestal.
