NATO and partner nations are currently at risk from cyber attacks seeking to disrupt their physical or informational assets, their actions in the international system, or their public image. Such attacks can include the spread of propaganda, industrial espionage that weakens a nation's global competitive advantage, the clandestine modification of sensitive data on the battlefield, or the disabling of a country's so-called critical infrastructure - power, water, fuel, communication, or commercial assets that are essential for the functioning of a society and economy.
