In the military sector the simulation software GESI, designed by CAE Elektronik, has proven its worth in training management and active staff. GESI maps all relevant factors, such as the area of operations, task forces, and weather conditions in a kind of virtual world. Tactical decisions, deployment plans, and the possible consequences of these can be played through on a transparent and traceable basis. For more than 15 years, the German Armed Forces have been successfully using GESI under the name of SIRA. So far, the training with SIRA in Germany was applied only in the militarv.
