The Arab spring is in bloom and change is in the wind. Western politicians are searching for answers on how to deal with the complexities of the Arab revolt. In the West, the scene combination of firepower and manoeuvre the Taliban were forced to disperse and flee. A fact of war is that firepower without manoeuvrability is indecisive. Defeating a nation from the air, as the coalition did against Iraq between the end of the 1991 Gulf War and the 2003 Operation "Iraqi Freedom" was also indecisive. War is still a multi-dimensional affair, even in 2011, and waging it in one-dimension promises only prolonged bloodshed and miserv.
