Deployed since April 2010 in Afghanistan, delivered as an UOR, and collectively worth more than ￡180 million, the Thales-led TALISMAN project is a suite of vehicles that provide an integrated route proving and clearance capability that is operated by the Royal Engineers. Each TALISMAN system, in addition to having QinetiQ's TALON units, comprises a variety of other vehicles including the MASTIFF Protected Patrol Vehicle; a BUFFALO Mine Protected Vehicle with a manipulator arm; a JCB High MobilityrnEngineer EXCAVATOR; and a T-HAWK Micro Air Vehicle.
