Force protection is an integrated application of offensive and defensive actions that deter, detect, preempt, mitigate, or negate threats against all military operations and assets, based on an acceptable level of risk. Key to force protection is the protection of own people, the prime asset of the military. Effective force protection is more than just a law enforcement, antiterror-ism, or security function.rnProtecting the warfighter is the responsibility of all Armed Forces. When soldiers perform in potentially hostile or hazardous areas, the military must assure the protection of their operations.
