How to build a more agile and adaptive fighting force as well how to balance the hi- and low-tech solutions was the main question during the 9th Dubai International Air Chiefs Conference (DIAC 2019). Organized by SEGMA in cooperation with the UAE's Ministry of Defence and Air Force and Air Defence, the event took place just a day before the opening ceremony of the Dubai Air Show in November. This event is among the largest gatherings of air force leaders, not only from the Persian Gulf countries but also from around the world. It was also the official public debut of Edge - a government-owned defence industry conglomerate launched just two weeks earlier. According to official information, Edge has a combined annual revenue of $5 billion (€4.5 billion) and employs roughly 12,000 workers.
