These words are being written early on the morning of the nineteenth anniversary of the terrorist outrage in New York and Washington, DC. The events of 9/11 have scarred a generation, launched a conflagration that seems to have no end and have left their imprint on individuals without number. Normally, this column is written from a dispassionate perspective and in the third person. I hope readers will indulge me, this once, for commenting from a personal perspective.
