摘要

Not since World War II has the US Marine Corps' combat strategy dramatically evolved so as to optimize its expeditionary capacity. In one instance, USMC leaders are strengthening their units' lethality, enabling them to fight and win engagements against two different near-peer competitors - China and Russia. At the same time, materiel enhancements are making individual marines more agile, and able to more quickly traverse and establish a presence in the expanses of the Indo-Pacific region, the contiguous Arctic or other strategically vital geographic areas. One underlying storyline is how Marine Corps' infantry unit and individual service member equipment is increasingly more lethal, lighter or enhanced in other ways, to best support overarching service strategy. Here, MilTech provides a survey of how randomly selected items in USMC equipment tables for infantry members and units are evolving to better complement senior leadership's warfighting guidance and direction.
