Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Israel Shipyards signed an MoU on 8 July to develop a cybersecurity suite for naval and commercial vessels. The novel solution will incorporate dedicated security mechanisms for marine platforms, with improved resilience and stability in mind. Maritime system safety regulations, developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), have recently revamped ship and port cybersecuri-ty requirements. Approximately 95% of Israel's imports, such as energy, food, industrial and defence goods, arrive via maritime freight. As seaports and ships face increased cybersecurity threats, the need for effective, resilient security is paramount for the maintenance of maritime transport. IAI stands at the forefront of developing cyber solutions and advanced unique capabilities for national cyber organizations and platforms, fo-rensics and training, providing customers with the ability to address a range of cyber threats. IAI runs R&D and innovation centres worldwide, and leads the Israel Cyber Companies Consortium (IC3), comprised of leading Israeli cyber companies offering end-to-end solutions for national cybersecurity organisations.
