Prices are up. Milk supplies are up. Investment is going on on farms and in factories. Businesses are becoming more competitive through rationalisation. Farmers are more confident. The farm exit rate is half the European average, and we are leading agriculture in addressing sustainability. But the mood is always dominated by the short term milk price and, at present, we are going through a down period because global demand and supply are, hopefully temporarily, out of kilter.
