I can remember clearly being told that the government had a target that 80% of all milk that was consumed should be 1 % fat. I can't remember quite so clearly where this actually came from, but I think it was the Food Standards Agency.It wasn't something that would ever affect me, most of the milk I consume comes straight from the milk tank. This is usually 4.2% fat, or 95.8% fat free, sometimes the fat is higher, which is good because I get paid for the fat content of my milk.
