Most people take a long view on the return on their investments. Sometimes that can be a relief, because the short term position looks dire. And that, of course, is the problem. We never actually live in the long term. It's just one long series of short term situations to contend with. Take the dairy industry as we head towards Christmas. Long term, solid growth prospects. Demand is likely to surge faster than supply globally and prices are expected to move ahead rapidly in real terms. Sure, they will be more volatile, but on a constantly upward trend. A feel good feeling all around, surely?
