The main story on this month's news pages is the joint venture between Milk Link and Glanbia plc to create Cheese Company Holdings - a major new dairy business, It is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Milk Link and keeps chief executive Barry Nicholls extremely busy, Milk Industry editor Geoff Platt asked Mr Nicholls, who joined Milk Link in May 2000 after senior managerial roles in Unigate and Hazlewoods plc, some questions. After deregulation, it seemed to me that some of the farmer co-operatives took quite a high profile, issued lots of press releases, made a lot of noise, if you like - but Milk Link-went quietly about its business, building itself up into the strong position it is in today. Can you summarise Milk Link's development from those early days?
