Essentially we are a market development consultancy for British food and drink companies, identifying market opportunities and providing advice. The main difference between us and other consultancies is that we are then prepared to implement our advice so that it delivers business for our individual clients. And we work for the very smallest company, perhaps wanting advice as a first-time exporter, up to larger companies who are more established exporters but who are wanting to look at, say, their distributor arrangements; maybe wanting to have support in terms of key account management as the major retailers consolidate in Europe in the way they have done in the UK. Increasingly we are doing trans-national research helping companies identify what should be their priorities across markets. We can help to provide the means of comparison across markets so that it is easier to make judgements on market priorities. And then our work extends through to a whole range of marketing services - in-store tastings, British promotional weeks and so on.
