The report from the MP's review on milk prices, despite calling for greater transparency and co-operation between producers and processors, has only increased the antagonism within the industry. While the retailers were very revealing in their evidence on their margins on milk it was completely overlooked by the committee and, instead, they called for processors to be more transparent. With Wiseman and Dairy Crest's annual figures available we know fairly well what their costs and revenues are and by calculation their unit costs and margins.
