According to the analysis of surface powered haulage accidents involving off-highway haul trucks in openpit mining, the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), reported 1,300 fatal accidents from 1990 to 2005. The Google Earth-based graphical display The main advantage of the ADS is that it works using commonly available technologies - the GPS as the geo-reference solution to pinpoint truck locations using satellites, and the Google Earth (GE) graphics engine as a user-friendly, yet powerful 3D graphical interface including basic geographic information system (GlS) capabilities.n The truck driver can change the interface view by tilt, altitude and angle setting.
