[...] one year after MinExpo, following one of the most tumultuous years that the industry has seen in quite some time, Caterpillar once again had reason to celebrate with the official launch of the fifth generation 793 F, 795 F, 795 F ac and flagship 797 F haul trucks (Table 1) at Caterpillar's testing grounds at Tinaja Hills, south of Tucson, AZ. 797 F - When Caterpillar began work on the first generation of the ultra class 797, in 1998, there was not a tire in the industry that was capable of carrying the truck, that was set to be the largest in the world. Using computer-aided earth moving systems (CAES) building block technology for identification of avoidance zone, the line-of -sight system that is currently in field follow testing will be used in coal stockpile and with underground conveyor operations with the operator safely away from the machine.
