The Mini was not young Phil Geary's first mode of transport. A fashionable Lambretta scooter and, later on, a motorbike got him out and about. But, as a youngster in the swinging 60s, he realised that if he was driving a Mini he could play music on the radio. Phil's first Mini was a Van which his dad bought him in 1968. "I put a seat in the back. It wasn't very comfortable." When asked how many Minis he's owned over the years he replies: "Too many to mention. I've had more Minis than Mini Vans and a C-reg Almond Green Mini Countryman." Once he had retired from his decorating business, he was keen to get a Mini in his life again and fancied an early one. "I just looked around trying to find a Mk1 and I found this, which is quite an unusual colour as it was not that popular."
