A couple of my friends have standard SPi Mini Coopers. I only have a 998cc Mini, which I need to tune so that it is at least as fast. I am thinking of having the engine rebuilt and fitting twin 11/4-inch SUs. What else should I do to gain the extra power? Rebuild the engine with a modified head together with a fast road cam such as a Piper 270, with the twin SUs rebuilt and needled correctly, and an LCB and suitable exhaust. Twin HS2s will indeedbe the most responsive carb option.
