This is Amelia Grace, born on 31 October, daughter of Nicola and Adam, granddaughter of Terry and Linda Baker of the North Devon Mini Register. But things could have been very different for the Baker family. Terry's twin daughters, Leigh and Nicola, have been through a nightmare over the past couple of years. Leigh was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 25 after three GPs said she had nothing to worry about and neglected to refer her to a specialist. After her operation, she persuaded her twin sister to get herself checked. It was discovered she had an identical lump that needed surgery. Terry is an impressive campaigner, as is proved by his fundraising for the Children's Hospice South West. He is now trying to campaign to increase awareness of breast cancer in women under 40, and to encourage the government to provide screening for women of all ages despite GP's reluctance to refer them. The campaign, called 'Cry Wolf', has the backing of members of the North Devon Mini Register and is purely to -increase awareness of breast cancer in young women, not to raise funds. The Register will still continue to raise funds for the Children's Hospice South West.
