When someone describes the condition of a car they bought as "￡250 pounds-worth of worn out bits - I don't know why I bought it!" you would probably think that it ended upgoing to China in an oblong shape. But in Martyn Dawkins' case, that's not what happened. His initial plans of getting this Mini 1000 going so his wife, Gill, could use it as a runaround went totally awry. Now, after five resprays, four sets of wheels, three interiors and countless external mods, this is the result. He might not have a clue how much he's thrown at it in the 12 years since he spent that first ￡250, but the results are still pretty special.
