摘要

The true purpose of a 'smart city' is to provide benefits for citizens, workers and visitors and to sustain these benefits by reducing costs and generating revenues. While technology can provide the tools to enable councils to support smart city initiatives, the successful cities of the future will not be created by technology in isolation, but by 'smart thinking'; teams and individuals who consider holistic strategies which focus on how technology is procured, deployed and how it is integrated into a scalable solution.
