Justice secretary, Jack Straw, has considered building a super-prison in one of England's proposed eco towns, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has revealed.Mr Straw this week formally dumped plans to build a series of 'Titan' prisons - which could have housed 2,500 inmates -across England to reduce overcrowding in Britain's creaking penal system.Instead, the MoJ is likely to build a number of smaller, cheaper prisons which would house 1,500 inmates each.But, prior to announcing it was no longer interested in the Titan' proposals, Mr Straw's department released details of sites under consideration for the super-prisons. The list included Curborough, near Lichfield in Staffordshire, which until recently, was the site of one of the CLG's proposed eco towns.
