You only have to glance at a newspaper, catch the latest news bulletin, or walk down your nearest high street to see a growing list of casualties that have fallen victim to the global economic slowdown. Among those that have been hardest hit are Small & Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) that make up the backbone of the UK's business community and employ more than half the nation's workforce. With access to credit becoming increasingly challenging, the responsibility to pay suppliers promptly has become a burning issue for any organisation and is more important than ever.
