During the four seasons of the year, the fungal colonization of air-conditioners, wallpapers and old painted walls were isolated from various sites in Cairo, Egypt and were identified. The total fungal counts and the frequency occurrence % of these fungal isolates and their exoenzymatic activities at the different locations were studied. The statistical analysis of the deteriorative fungal colonization at different sites showed a significant variations. Elaboration of cellulases and proteases were detected in these fungal isolates that affected various cellulosic materials badly. The humidity and temperature conditions of each season affect the fungal counts and also the level of both cellulase and protease activities. The fungal isolates of air conditioners produce high amount of cellulases and proteases during autumn followed by summer, spring and winter while in wallpapers high amounts of both enzymes were noticed in autumn and spring. The fungal isolates of old painted walls in damp houses produce high amount of cellulolytic and proteolytic enzymes in summer and autumn. A.flavus and A.niger are the most frequent isolates detected in all locations all over the year with high enzymatic activities and high frequency occurrence%. Maintenance of buildings, cleaning and overhaul of air-conditioners and all valuable objects as frescoes, paintings, books, museums,..etc should be carried out periodically. It is a basic prerequisite for safety and prevention of deleterious health effects of the microorganisms.
