摘要

The use of magnetic and electrical resistivity methods in understanding the structural setting of Oba-lle area has been established. The magnetic anomaly and isoresistivity maps were interpreted qualitatively, From the magnetic method, magnetic low of negative magnetic values was delineated particularly at the western parts of the area trending NE-SW, NW-SE, and E-W. The isoresistivity maps particularly at "a" =48m, 64m and 96m showed varying resistivity pattern which is diagnostic of the presence of linear structures which coincide with the trend from the magnetic anomaly. Thus, the presence of basement depressions/fractures/faults/lithological contacts/rock boundaries cannot be ruled out. Hydrolithologically, the most prolific unit is the coarse grained sands/gravels of the intermediate layer, the weathered basement particularly when it is underlain by fracture bedrock. The environmental implication arise mainly from the variation in basement aquifer which vary from place to place and at times it may not exist at all, the lithologic sequence above the basement aquifer, productivity/ yield of hand-dug wells particularly during dry season, and its usage.
