This year's event was as good as ever, with 239 cars taking part in this four-day tour which departed early in Paris on Tuesday April 19th and ended in Cannes late the following Saturday. Renamed 'Tour Auto' a year after Patrick Peter revived 'Tour de France Auto' in 1992, it's a one-of-a-kind event on public roads and on four circuits, with night stopovers this year in Beaune, Lyon, Valence, Marseille and Cannes. The cars covered 1,240 miles over the course of the tour, but beforehand, were put on display to the public in the idyllic setting of the 'Grand Palais'. Open exclusively to classic and historic cars of a model or type that took part in the Tour de France Automobile between 1951 -1973, older cars can compete, but they must not be built later than 1981.
