Inflation expectations of market participants are of particular interest to central banks. Having an accurate measure of market inflation expectations helps the monetary authority assess its effectiveness in controlling inflation, as well as its credibility among market participants. There is no single measure for evaluating inflation expectations. Rather, they are obtained using different methods, which typically provide a range of results.
